HaNoi, Vietnam

This was our mission trip to National Pediatric Hospital in HaNoi. We went room to room and instructed, explained, corrected, advised and loved.

This young doctor was awesome and did ALL our interpeting for us. I was telling him how grateful we were.

I was talking with this mother and explaining what she could do to help her son. The drs. and nurses listened and learned also. They focus more on the physical care than the mental and spirit. We were constantly touching babies and speaking softly to role model .

This grandmother stayed here 24/7. She would secretively hand signal to us to pray him.

There were times we would see up to 3 babies in an incubator. Their names were taped to their foreheads.
This is the new playroom that took 1 year to build. We were thrilled!

I was showing the student nurses how to position a baby who was on a ventilator so she would be more comfortable.
Good old Hochiman (statue) was everywhere. This was the team that went all over the hospital with us.
Elaine, my cohort in crime, was lecturing with me to the nurses from the provinces [out in the country].

Nebraska City ~ Weekend Trip

This is the entrance to the Leid Lodge where we stayed. Nebraska City is only 1 hour from Omaha and we felt like we were so far away.

This house was built in the mid 1800's and we got to tour all 4 floors. Totally furnished in the era. I learned lots of trivia.

This is the view from the deck outside the restaurant. Very peaceful and quiet. We walked through apple orchards, participated in a wine tasting, actually toured 2 houses from the 1800's and drove around the back roads. We viewed several art displays too. Fun and close to home!

#1 - Family Trip to Creede 8/08

Peaceful sitting-bench down by the little pond. This is the little cabin Pops has remodeled and stabilized. He is currently furnishing the inside.

We all went into Creede on a shopping adventure. Here everyone is taking a break and checking e-mails at the Firehouse.

Oh, was Noey ever in heaven. Here he is sitting in Pops' John Deer and pretending to drive. He climbed all the way up there himself saying, "Watch me Noni, I no fall" : }

#2 - Family trip to Creede 8/08

Dad, Pops, Tim, Adam and Rob were at the little pond cutting down dead Aspen trees then hauling them off. They worked sooo hard.

Emma Mae can now say "NaNa" and of course I LOVE it!!

Helping Pops clean up the fountain area in front of the cabin. With all the help and the John Deer, it took maybe 1 1/2 hours to clean the rock out.

Happy 2 year Anniversary to Pops and Judy. We took them to the Antlers for dinner and these girls sang to them as a surprise.

Omaha's Air Show

These are the Air Force ThunderBirds [6 in all].

July 4th in Omaha

We sat on our deck eating apple pie and ice cream while looking out at the horizon [north to south] watching fabulous fireworks displays from all the different subdivisions. Some were professionally done and others were families and kids shooting them off. Couldn't have seen a better show and been more comfortable!

This was the finale and it was awesome.

Olympic Swim Trials

The Summer Olympic Swim trials were here in Omaha at our Quest Center. I was able to attend with my neighbor during 1 session. It was very exciting! We met Katie Hoff's mother [sitting in our box -- she snuck in] and saw Micheal Phelps swim [the 2 top finalist].

The men's session. Michael Phelps was in the 4th row....he won! I found myself so engulfed with the excitement, I was yelling with the best of them : } Fun!
