Hue, Vietnam

This was our R&R weekend before we began the 2nd week. The hotel was very nice on the Perfume River. House/working boats were all along the river. Very humid!

Beautiful home grown flowers sold along the street for minimal prices. Gorgeous!

OK, toys! What would our grandkids like??
Teaching the nursing instructors with Elaine at the University of Hue. Very receptive to us!
Oh, just the corner barber shop....literally.
Hardly any cars in Hue. Parking lots "loaded" with motor bikes. Great savings on gas, even over there.
This is the Kings Tomb. I fell on these stairs [it was raining]! The king would build his tomb while he was still living so it fit perfectly into his specifications.
These were the soldiers that were protecting the dead king right at the entrance to his tomb.
At the end of the day getting ready for the unforgettable, never-imagined, 1 hour massage for $13 ~ not a good American deal.

Boarding a house boat for an evening of entertainment on the Perfume River. A family lived on this boat and this was their livelihood.

We were entertained by these singers/dancers. This is the attire known in Hue. Beautiful silks!

Small village next to our hotel that was actually a school that taught embroidery. I got to see women working on silk screens and the artist who actually drew the scene before it was sewn.

HaNoi, Vietnam

This was our mission trip to National Pediatric Hospital in HaNoi. We went room to room and instructed, explained, corrected, advised and loved.

This young doctor was awesome and did ALL our interpeting for us. I was telling him how grateful we were.

I was talking with this mother and explaining what she could do to help her son. The drs. and nurses listened and learned also. They focus more on the physical care than the mental and spirit. We were constantly touching babies and speaking softly to role model .

This grandmother stayed here 24/7. She would secretively hand signal to us to pray him.

There were times we would see up to 3 babies in an incubator. Their names were taped to their foreheads.
This is the new playroom that took 1 year to build. We were thrilled!
This is the nurses station where they served us Jasmine tea and green bean cake....yummmm! : }
I was showing the student nurses how to position a baby who was on a ventilator so she would be more comfortable.
Good old Hochiman (statue) was everywhere. This was the team that went all over the hospital with us.
Elaine, my cohort in crime, was lecturing with me to the nurses from the provinces [out in the country].

Nebraska City ~ Weekend Trip

This is the entrance to the Leid Lodge where we stayed. Nebraska City is only 1 hour from Omaha and we felt like we were so far away.

This house was built in the mid 1800's and we got to tour all 4 floors. Totally furnished in the era. I learned lots of trivia.

This is the view from the deck outside the restaurant. Very peaceful and quiet. We walked through apple orchards, participated in a wine tasting, actually toured 2 houses from the 1800's and drove around the back roads. We viewed several art displays too. Fun and close to home!

This is Nebraska City airport, of course we had to check it out =)

#1 - Family Trip to Creede 8/08

Peaceful sitting-bench down by the little pond. This is the little cabin Pops has remodeled and stabilized. He is currently furnishing the inside.
Papa teaching Noah how to look in the telescope at the big horn sheep on top of the mountain.
Rob and Adam having fun between helping Pops with different jobs around the cabin. They were going way too fast for me!
Can you see the Rufus Hummingbird at the feeder? I stood there ever so still just waiting and finally got him in flight.
We all went into Creede on a shopping adventure. Here everyone is taking a break and checking e-mails at the Firehouse.
Papa giving Noey a ride on the 4 wheeler. Noey is quite the little mountain boy [just like his daddy].
Oh, was Noey ever in heaven. Here he is sitting in Pops' John Deer and pretending to drive. He climbed all the way up there himself saying, "Watch me Noni, I no fall" : }
Pops taking Adam and Noah Paul for a ride in the huge John Deer tractor.
Getting ready for their early morning hike.

Uncle Rob in heaven!
Noni having so much fun on the floor with Will and Emma.
Noni playing on the deck with Noey, Will & Emma. Their parents went to Lake City for the afternoon while Papa and I babysat.
Snack time! Will thought Emma's snack tasted better than his, which was the same snack and she was all to happy to share.
Dad, Pops, Tim, Adam and Rob were at the little pond cutting down dead Aspen trees then hauling them off. They worked sooo hard.
Emma Mae can now say "NaNa" and of course I LOVE it!!
Helping Pops clean up the fountain area in front of the cabin. With all the help and the John Deer, it took maybe 1 1/2 hours to clean the rock out.
Happy 2 year Anniversary to Pops and Judy. We took them to the Antlers for dinner and these girls sang to them as a surprise.
Rob taking a break from shopping for lunch at "The Best Little Doghouse in Creede."
Robert on vacation!! ; }
Tim and Emma going on a hike for some father/daughter time.
The Robinson's vegging out.
Good old Bristol Head....peaceful and as gorgeous as ever.
The younger Lusk's going on a family hike to find bears for Noah =-0

Omaha's Air Show

These are the Air Force ThunderBirds [6 in all].

Different planes used in WW2, Korean War and the Vietnam War [starting at the bottom is the Mohawk, the Invader, and the Mustang].

The Invader in action.

I think this one is called The Maverik.

This is a female civilian stunt pilot saluting us as she flew by.

This is the biggest plane that I have ever seen!!

The ThunderBirds final stunt.
